TACOMA, Wash.- The Pacific University men's basketball team lost on Saturday at Puget Sound 76-55. With the loss, the Boxers split the season series with the Loggers.
The Loggers were able to establish a lead and maintain it in the second half outshooting the Boxers 48% to 32%. The Loggers also had the edge on the glass in the contest pulling down 48 rebounds with 12 coming on the offensive glass.
Top Performers
- Jacob Bolger was the only Boxer to reach double digits recording 16 points while also grabbing nine rebounds.
- Lucas Winkler continued to add to his resume on the national level handing out seven assists.
How It Happened
Over the first eight minutes of the contest the two teams traded baskets on the offensive end. Following back-to-back converted field goals from
Jacob Bolger with 7:08 remaining, Pacific took a one-point lead, 14-13. The host Loggers would go on a 10-2 run capped off with three consecutive field goals to take a 23-16 lead. At the conclusion of the opening half, the host Loggers held a 35-24 lead.
The second half was more of the same as Puget Sound never relinquished their double-digit lead on the way to the 76-55 NWC win.
