FOREST GROVE, Ore. – The Pacific University softball team dropped both games in their doubleheader against Lewis & Clark on Thursday, March 30th.

Game 1
Following two scoreless innings the Boxers struck first in the third. Madsen got the bats going with a single through the left side followed by a single from Knepp scoring Moullet-D for the first run of the game. Carter came up to bat and singled up the middle bringing home two more runs. Patton singled to bring in another run to take the 4-0 lead.
With two outs the Pioneers managed to plate two runs of their own in the bottom half of the fourth. Followed by a three-run homerun and solo homer in the fifth to take the 6-4 lead. Both teams went hitless in the final two innings and the Pioneers took their 6-4 game-one win into the last game of the doubleheader.
Game 2
Lewis and Clark opened the game with a two-run first inning. Madsen homered to left center to cut the deficit in half for the Boxers in the top half of the second.
Petitt walked up to the plate in the fifth with two outs and doubled plating Jeffries. Knepp kept the two-out rally going hitting a single right up the middle to bring across another run, 3-2.
The home team responded quickly in the bottom half of the fifth scoring on a wild pitch, a single, and 2 RBI homer. Despite being credited the loss, Lindsey Greenfield pitched all six innings for Pacific logging a season-high six strikeouts.
Lewis & Clark held off the Boxers in the final two innings to secure the 5-3 win.
