Pacific jumped on Willamette early and held on for a 96-87 victory Tuesday night inside the Stoller Center.
The Boxers raced out to a 24-7 lead and led 53-36 at halftime.
Pacific continued to control the game to start the second half until the Bearcats went on an 11-0 run to get within 74-72 with 5:14 remaining. However, that was as close as Willamette would get to the Boxers, who never trailed in the game.
Pacific made 13 of 22 3-point attempts and shot 47.1 percent from the field overall.Â
Devin Fortune recorded a double-double of 26 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Boxers.
Lucas Gray, who started in the absence of
Lucas Winkler, had 18 points, six rebounds and four assists.
Jake Blazona added 18 points and four assists.
Pacific improved to 2-3 in the Northwest Conference and 8-6 overall.
Next, the Boxers play at Pacific Lutheran on Saturday at 6 p.m.
