MCMINNVILLE -- Linfield grabbed the lead with 11:05 remaining and never let it go Friday night to defeat Pacific 64-59.
With the loss, the Boxers dropped to 2-5 in the Northwest Conference and 8-8 overall. The win was Linfield's first NWC victory of the season.
Lucas Winkler had 21 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals to lead Pacific. Jacob Blazona added 10 points and three assists.
The Boxers got off to a strong start at Linfield, taking a 20-9 lead with 9:09 remaining in the first half. But the Wildcats answered with an 11-0 run to tie the game at 20-20 with 6:50 to go.
Pacific, who held on to a 31-29 lead at halftime, shot just 27.4 percent from the field in the game, including 21.6 percent in the second half.
Next, the Boxers play at Lewis & Clark on Saturday at 6 p.m.
