Five Pacific wrestlers placed at the Mike Clock Women's Open Sunday inside the Stoller Center.
Making her college debut, freshmanÂ
Shananiah Cassidy won the 124-pound division. Cassidy finished 4-0 with three pins, including in the finals over Big Bend Community College's Natalie Marcyes-Weeks.Â
Also making her Pacific debut,Â
Zainab Ibrahim, a transfer from Umpqua Community College, placed third at 138. Ibrahim went 4-1 with two pins and a tech fall. Her only loss came to Simon Fraser's Jade Trolland in the semifinals.
Pacific sophomore
Audrey Diaz finished fourth at 138. After edging Simpson University's Audrey Villalon-Estrada 7-6 in the consolation semifinals, Diaz lost to Ibrahim by injury default in the third-place match.
Back from missing all of last year with a shoulder injury and fresh off soccer season, junior
Makaila Takahashi placed fourth at 160 pounds, finishing 3-2 with three pins.
After getting pinned in the second round of the championship bracket, Pacific sophomore
Paige Beals battled her way through the consolation bracket with two pins and a tech fall before running into Takahashi in the consolation semifinals. Beals then won by a 13-2 tech fall in the fifth-place match.
Back from two ACL surgeries, Pacific juniorÂ
Analeese McAllister went 2-2 with two tech falls in her return to the mat.
