Pacific's struggles against Northwest Conference power Linfield continued with the Wildcats running away with a 68-28 victory Saturday at Hanson Stadium.
Linfield scored 38 unanswered points before the Boxers got on the scoreboard with 54 seconds remaining in the first half when quarterback
Braeden Titus connected with
Cole Weber for a 4-yard touchdown.
With Pacific trailing 45-7,
Avin Tanioka blocked a Linfield field goal attempt, which
Zion Booker returned 50 yards for a touchdown with 3:52 remaining in the third quarter.
The Boxers added two more touchdowns late in the fourth quarter on passes from backup quarterback
Emana Tarape to
Josiah Chaffin and
Christian Carmichael.
Chaffin had eight receptions for 132 yards.
Brody Bantolina, the Division-III rushing leader, was held to 66 yards on 22 carries.
Pacific had six turnovers -- four interceptions and two fumbles.
Joseph Taylor-Pate and
Kainoa Mizukami each had six tackles to lead the Boxer defense.
Jesse Stroede made a diving interception in the first quarter.
The Boxers are 0-14 against Linfield since 2010.
