Sparked by its bench, Pacific defeated George Fox 88-81 Friday night to improve to 7-3 inside the Stoller Center.
Jake Blazona, who finished with 23 points, seven rebounds and four assists, made a layup to give the Boxers a 19-18 lead with 9:34 remaining in the first half and Pacific never trailed again.
Off the bench,
Wilfrid Nado then knocked down two 3-pointers to extend the lead to six points, 27-21, with 7:44 to go.
Lucas Gray, another member of Pacific's second unit, drained a 3-pointer and jumper to put the Boxers up 40-29 with 3:13 remaining in the first half.
Pacific finished with 36 bench points. Gray had 12 points, two rebounds, three assists and two steals. Nado added 12 points and two assists.
After George Fox cut the Boxers lead to four points, 65-61, with 8:17 remaining in the game, Pacific quickly answered with a 7-0 run.
The Boxers shot 42.3 percent from the field, including 40 percent (10-for-21) from behind the 3-point arc.
Truman Young had 14 points for Pacific in the win, finishing a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line.
Next, the Boxers (11-9, 5-6) play at Puget Sound (11-9, 7-4) on Saturday at 6 p.m. The Loggers are undefeated (8-0) at home.
