Pacific junior Haleigh Colfelt went all seven innings in the circle, holding Pacific Lutheran to three runs on seven hits.
But the Boxer offense couldn't capitalize as the Lutes took game one of Sunday's doubleheader 3-0. Pacific Lutheran also won game two 13-5 to complete the series sweep as Pacific dropped to 7-25 overall and 3-17 in the Northwest Conference.
Game 1
The Boxers left five runners on base in the game one loss. Pacific got a runner to second base in the first, second and third innings.
Senior Michelle Winfield walked to lead off the bottom of the sixth, but was stranded at third base to end the inning.
Colfelt pitched all seven innings for the second time this season, finishing with three strikeouts.
Chloe Knepp went 2-for-2 with a single, double, and a walk. Winfield was 1-for-2 with a single and a walk.
Game 2
Down 8-0, the Boxers picked up two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to extend the game.
Knepp doubled to lead off the inning. Pinch runner Ashley Ballew then scored on an infield error to get Pacific on the scoreboard.
After giving up five runs in the top of the sixth, the Boxers stormed back with three of their own in the ensuing half inning, with Kimberly Ray and Savannah Roddey each driving in runs.
Roddey finished 1-for-3 with a single and two RBIs. Kaiya Tom was 0-for-1 with a walk and an RBI.
Next, Pacific will host Willamette on April 27-28 in its final Northwest Conference home series of the season.
