PORTLAND -- The Pacific men's basketball team fell 88-62 at Lewis & Clark Saturday in its first Northwest Conference road test.
But the Boxers did leave Portland with something to celebrate as senior guard
Lucas Winkler broke Pacific's career assists record.
Winkler, who led the Boxers with 17 points, finished with three assists to bring his career total to 492, breaking Mark Ward's mark of 490, set from 1985-89.
Pacific trailed by just seven points, 40-33, at halftime. But Lewis & Clark outscored the Boxers 18-3 to begin the second half to stretch its lead to 58-36 with 12:58 remaining.
The Pioneers outscored Pacific 48-29 in the second half.
Devin Fortune added 13 points and three rebounds in the loss.
Lewis & Clark shot 59.6 percent from the field and made 17 of 18 free throw attempts.
Next: Pacific hosts George Fox (5-6, 1-1) Tuesday at 6 p.m. inside the Stoller Center.
