The Pacific men's basketball team overcame a cold shooting night to defeat George Fox 74-71 Tuesday night inside the Stoller Center.

The Boxers, who shot 1-for-14 from behind the 3-point line, took a 16-14 lead on a Devin Fortune layup with 10:57 remaining in the first half and never trailed again.

Pacific extended its leads to 20 points in the second half.

The Boxers led by nine points with 24 seconds remaining. After the Bruins made two free throws and a 3-pointer to get within 72-68 with 12 seconds to go, Pacific's Jake Blazona made two free throws to ice the game.

Blazona finished with 18 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals to lead the Boxers. Lucas Winkler filled up the state sheet with 17 points, seven rebounds, eight assists and four steals. 

Fortune added 12 points and nine rebounds in the win.

Pacific improved to 2-1 in the Northwest Conference.
