Boxers dominate Linfield in conference opener

The Pacific men's basketball team opened Northwest Conference play Saturday night with a convincing 75-50 win over Linfield.

The Boxers took a 22-21 lead on a Max Vacco layup with 7:46 remaining in the first half and never looked back, extending its advantage to 15 points, 38-23, at halftime.

Pacific led by as many as 26 points in the second half. 

Vacco finished with 14 points, six rebounds, seven assists and six steals. Ryder Mackay had 10 points, six rebounds and two blocks. Anthony Hrboka also had 10 points in the win for the Boxers, who shot 48.4 percent from the field as a team.

Linfield shot 28.6 percent, including 18.6 percent from 3, making just 8 of 43 attempts.

Pacific has won four straight against the Wildcats. 

Next: The Boxers host Alma College on Saturday, Dec. 13 at 5 p.m.
