SPOKANE, Wash. -- The Pacific men's basketball team got 16 points off the bench from
Wilfrid Nado.
But the spark wasn't enough to knock off the top team in the Northwest Conference standings as the Boxers fell 84-65 Friday night at Whitworth.
Pacific trailed by just two points, 26-24, with 7:14 remaining in the first half when the Pirates went on a 10-0 run to take control of the game.
The Boxers, who trailed 46-34 at halftime, got within eight points in the second half but never any closer.
Devin Fortune posted a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds. Pacific shot just 37.5 percent in the loss.
The Boxers, who are 1-5 in their last six games, dropped to 5-8 in the NWC.
