Boxers flirt with school record, finish fifth at Pacific Invite

NORTH PLAINS -- The Pacific men's golf team opened the 2025 Pacific Invitational Saturday on fire. 

Playing a Pumpkin Ridge, the Boxers shot a 294, tied for the third lowest score in program history and the best mark since 2009. 

Pacific then followed with a round two score of 310 on Sunday to finish fifth out of 10 teams.

Jordan Nakamura led the Boxers, finishing 14th overall out of 61 golfers. The Pacific freshman shot a 74 and a 75 for a two-day total of 149. 

Sophomore Ryan Murray carded a 150 to place 16th. Junior Charlie Cloud (151) and sophomore Ben Korach (154) completed the scoring for the Boxers. 

Rocky Mountain College, a NAIA program in Billings, Montana, won the team championship. Rocky Mountain sophomore Kristjan Burkelca and George Fox junior Truman Fletcher both shot 140 to earn low medalist honors.

Willamette (595) George Fox (596) finished second and third in the team standings.

Next: Pacific will compete in the Willamette Valley Cup on March 15-16 at Creekside Golf Club in Salem.
