Boxers come back to take three of four from Puget Sound

The Pacific softball team finished its Northwest Conference opening series strong, scoring three runs in the fifth inning and four more in the sixth to defeat Puget Sound 7-1 Sunday afternoon.
 
Peyton Davis pitched all seven innings to earn the win in the circle. The Pacific freshman allowed six hits and one run. 
 
The Boxers recorded 11 hits in the final game. Kayla Kodani was 2-for-3 and scored two runs. 
 
Rylie Kihara and Kaimalino Ingram were both 2-for-4 with an RBI at the plate. Libby Hardee was 1-for-3 with three RBIs. Chloe Knepp and Carli Zanassi each doubled in the victory.
 
Pacific went 3-1 against the Loggers. After splitting the first two games on Saturday, the Boxers swept Puget Sound on Sunday. 
 
Saturday
 
Game 1
 
Pacific opened Northwest Conference play with a 7-5 victory over Puget Sound.
 
Down 3-0, the Boxers offense exploded with seven runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
 
Kaimalino Ingram was 1-for-3 with a double, walk and two RBIs. Jordan Ingram was 1-for-3 with a run and two RBIs.
 
Kiara Baba pitched all seven innings to earn the win.
 
Game 2
 
One bad inning cost Pacific as Puget Sound scored five runs in the top of the fifth to defeat the Boxers 7-1.
 
Kaimalino Ingram was 2-for-3 with a double in the loss. 
 
Sunday
 
Game 1
 
With one out in the bottom of the second, Knepp hit a three-run homer to left field and that's all the run support Baba needed.
 
The Pacific sophomore pitched all seven innings, allowing four hits and one run, to improve to 2-0 in the circle. 
 
Next: Pacific beings a four-game series at Lewis & Clark on Saturday, March 15.
