Boxers can't keep up with first-place Linfield

MCMINNVILLE, Ore. – The Pacific women's basketball team became Linfield's latest victim as the Wildcats defeated the Boxers 61-51 Tuesday night to remain undefeated in Northwest Conference play.

Pacific never led in the game as Linfield raced out to a 10-0 advantage before senior Lindsay Barden scored the Boxers first basket with 5:56 remaining in the first period.

Pacific got within seven points, 30-23, at halftime. But the Wildcats opened the third period on a 10-0 run to take control of the game.

The Boxers didn't go down without a fight. Down 51-32, Pacific went on a 12-0 run to get within seven points, 51-44, with 6:31 remaining in the game. But that's as close as the Boxers would get to host Linfield as the Wildcats stretched their lead back to double digits.

Pacific freshman Jamysen Yates had 13 points and six rebounds off the bench. Barden finished with 11 points and five rebounds.

The Boxers made a season-high eight 3-pointers in the loss, their fourth in a row.
