The Pacific men's basketball team entered Saturday's game with still an outside shot at making the Northwest Conference tournament. But Pacific Lutheran's outside shooting quickly ended any hope of postseason play as the Boxers fell 94-49 at home on senior night.
The Lutes knocked down five 3-pointers to take a 15-0 lead in the first 3 minutes, 38 seconds of the first half. Pacific scored twice in the paint to get within 15-4, but the Lutes made three more 3-pointers to stretch their lead to 22 points with 11:38 remaining and never looked back.
Pacific Lutheran, who made 8 of its first 10 shots from 3, finished 19-for-38 from behind the arc. The Boxers went just 4-for-21 from 3 and shot 28.3 percent overall, by far their worst shooting game of the season.
Senior
Lucas Gray was the only Pacific player to reach double figures, finishing with 12 points and three rebounds.
Pacific Lutheran senior Ben Tellez had a game-high 40 points, finishing 12-for-20 from 3.
