Newberg, Ore. – Pacific Track and Field had their second meet of the outdoor season. The Boxers competed at the Rich Allen Classic at George Fox University. Through Saturday's competition there were 17 Northwest Conference Qualifiers and 6 new All-Time Top 10 performances.
Top Performers
During Saturday's competition the Boxers won 5 events. Senior Kamron Shields won the Men's 400m with a time of 50.37. The Boxers Men's 4x100 Relay consisting of Matthew Gray, Zaccarius Barnett-Grizzell, Kamron Shields, and Brody Bantolina also won the Men's 4x100 Relay with a time of 43.39.
Freshman Noel Gutierrez, threw 46.03m in the Men's Discus. Gutierrez throw placed him first in the Men's Discus and #4 on the All-Time Top 10 list. Freshman Shaeli Sikes also moved to #4 on the All-Time Top Ten List in the Women's Hammer Throw with a throw of 45.04m.
Graduate student Ria Gill competed in the Women's 5000. Gill's time of 18:05.07 moves her to #7 on the All-Time Top 10 list. Gill also placed first in the Women's 5000m and qualified for the Northwest Conference Championship in the Women's 5000m. Freshman Ali Heinly also won in the Women's 3000m Steeplechase. Heinly's performance of 11:41.70 made her #6 on the All-Time Top 10 list and qualified for the Northwest Conference Championship.
In the Women's 200m graduate student Josie Lavato qualified for the Northwest Conference Championship with a time of 26.75. Lavato's performance also places her #10 on the All-Time Top 10 list in the Women's 200m. Finally sophomore Dani Hammond competed in the Women's High Jump. Hammond's jump of 1.57m places her #5 on the All-Time Top 10 list and qualified for the Northwest Conference Championship in the Women's High Jump.
"It was another great day for Pacific track! The rainy weather of the week cleared up just in time for us to put up some more qualifying and top ten marks," said assistant coach MacKenzie Beeler. "We are continuing to build on the momentum from last weekend and we are sure to see even more great performances out of this team as the season goes on!"
"Watching the team from afar, they did really well," said Head Coach Ryan Huntersimms. "They took advantage of another sunny day. We are progressing well as a team and are looking forward to the rest of the outdoor season."

Up Next
The Boxers Track and Field team will split up and compete at two meets this upcoming weekend. Some of the Boxers will head to Corvallis Ore. to compete in the Pacific Northwest Invite from Friday March 20th to Saturday March 21st. The rest of the Boxers will head to Portland Ore. to compete at Lewis and Clark College on Saturday March 21st.
