Ally Hammond Places Second in the 60m Hurdles at the NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships

Birmingham, Ala. — Senior Ally Hammond closed her Indoor Track and Field career competing at the NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships. Hammond competed over two days of competition in the Women's 60m Hurdles and the Women's 200m adding more All-American titles to her name.

Hammond competed in the Women's 60m Hurdles and the 200m prelims on Friday, March 13th. She kicked off her first race by running a new personal record of 8.47 in the 60m Hurdles and qualified for finals. Later in the 200m, Hammond ran a time of 24.88 and became a Second Team All-American in the Women's 200.

On Saturday, Hammond competed in the Women's 60m Hurdles Finals. Hammond ran another personal record of 8.42. Hammond placed 2nd overall in the event, making her First Team All-American for the second year in a row in the Women's 60m Hurdles.

On top of Hammond's stellar performance, she broke her own school record in the Women's 60m Hurdles. "Of course, I am happy to earn All-American honors once again," said Hammond. "But, I wanted that national title. I'll be coming back stronger this outdoor season. I've got some things to prove."

"Ally is such a tough competitor. She is always ready to compete when she is on big stages," said Head Coach Ryan Huntersimms. "We didn't accomplish our goals this indoor season, but I am proud of everything she was able to achieve. We are looking forward to the outdoor season now, and the goal is to bring back the gold in May."
