Portland, Ore. – Pacific Track and Field competed in two outdoor meets this past weekend. On Friday, March 20th, some of the Boxers competed at the Pacific Northwest Invite at Oregon State University. On Saturday, March 21st, the Boxers competed at Lewis and Clark College. Over the two days of competition, there were three All-Time Top Ten performances and thirteen Northwest Conference championships qualifiers.
Top Performers
On Friday in Corvallis, freshman
Ali Heinly competed in the women's 3000m Steeplechase. Heinly's time of 11:17.26 was a 24.44 second personal record that rose her from #6 to #2 on the All-Time Top Ten list.
Building on Heinly's strong performance, head cross country and distance coach Riley Stewart said, "Friday night at OSU, we had some great performances. The Boxers put themselves in positions to run great times, and it paid off! I've never seen someone close a Steeplechase race as fast as Ali did."
Senior
Ally Hammond came off the NCAA Division III Indoor Nationals ready to compete in the outdoor season. In Saturday's competition, Hammond ran the Women's 200m. Hammond ran a new personal record of 24.64, which qualified her for the Northwest Conference championships and broke her previous school record.
The Boxers also had three women qualify in the Women's 100m. First was
Ally Hammond with a time of 12.27. Next was freshman
Nichole Goodwin with a time of 13.22, and then sophomore
Maya Kaneshiro with a time of 13.26.
In the Women's Pole Vault, sophomore
Holly Gay jumped 2.98m. Gay's jump moves her to #8 on the All-Time Top Ten list. Freshman
Kayla Balandran also competed in the Women's Pole Vault. Balandran jumped 2.68m and qualified for the Northwest Conference championships. This means all three of the women vaulters:

Holly Gay, and
Kayla Balandran will be representing the Boxers at the Northwest Conference track and field championships in May.

The Boxers track and field team will be competing on their home track in Forest Grove Ore. On Monday and Tuesday, the 23rd and 24th, Pacific will host the PACU Multis. The Boxers
Kamron Shields will compete in the Men's Decathlon.
Courtney Tiernan and
Dani Hammond will compete in the Women's Heptathlon.
Following the Multis, the Boxers will host the Pacific Open on Saturday, March 28th, where there will be a full spread of track and field events.
