Forest Grove, Ore. — Pacific Track and Field hosted the PACU Multis on March 23rd and 24th. During Monday and Tuesday's competition, the Boxers
Kamron Shields,
Courtney Tiernan, and
Dani Hammond competed in an array of events, qualifying for the Northwest Conference Championships.
Top Performers
Senior
Courtney Tiernan competed in the Women's Heptathlon. Tiernan kicked off competition strong on Monday, where she matched her personal record in the High Jump. Her jump of 1.47m qualified her for the Northwest Conference Championships in the Women's High Jump. Through the seven events in the Heptathlon, Tiernan scored a total of 3,605 points, qualifying for the Northwest Conference Championships in the Heptathlon.
Building on her strong performance, Tiernan reflected, "The Pacific Multi is so special because of the overwhelming amount of support we get from everyone. It's a reminder of how loud and proud the Boxer community is. It really should be a national holiday!"
Sophomore
Dani Hammond also competed in the Heptathlon. Hammond scored a total of 3,219 points, which qualified her for the Northwest Conference Championships in the Heptathlon. One of Hammond's standout events was the 100m Hurdles, where she ran a new personal record. Her time of 17.02 also qualified her for the Northwest Conference Championships in the Women's 100m Hurdles.
In the Decathlon, senior
Kamron Shields placed 5th overall. Shields scored a total of 5,551 points. Shields not only qualified for the Northwest Conference Championships in the Decathlon but also in the 110m Hurdlers with a new personal record of 16.94.
"We are so proud of the adversity these three fought through over the last two days," said head coach
Ryan Huntersimms. "We accomplished our two goals: achieving an NWC qualifying mark and controlling the controllables. We look forward to the Multi Conference meet in a few weeks, where we will put all the pieces together."

The Boxers will continue into the weekend where they will host the Pacific Open at Hanson Stadium in Forest Grove, Ore. The Pacific Open is on Saturday, March 28th, where there will be a full spread of track and field events.
