Brown Scores 20 in Exhibition Loss to NCAA Division I, Oregon State

Junior Brevin Brown hit six 3-pointers en route to 20 points in a 91-69 loss for the Pacific men's basketball team in an exhibition game against NCAA Division I Oregon State on Friday night in Corvallis.

Brown and the Boxers made 12 3-pointers in the loss and made 48% of its efforts from the 3-point line in the contest.

Four of the five starters for Oregon State scored in double figures including Tres Tinkle, who had a double double with 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Beavers. In forcing 15 Pacific turnovers, Oregon State outscored the Boxers, 25-7 in points off turnovers. Plus, with a taller frontline, they were able to outscore Pacific, 50-14 on points in the paint.
 
Also, Pacific senior Nate Olowo had six points and 10 rebounds and 13 of the 14 Boxers, who suited up found themselves on the scoring ledger.
 
"I am proud of the way that our guys competed tonight," said head coach Jerod Gibson. "We have a long ways to go but there were a lot of positive things for us to take away and build on moving forward."

The season opener for Pacific will be at the McArthur Classic in Tacoma, Wash, Nov. 17-18. The Boxers start the weekend against Redlands in a 4 p.m. contest on Friday, Nov. 17.
