Box Score The Pacific men's basketball team dropped a 128-83 decision to No.6 Whitman on Friday evening in Walla Walla, Washington.
The Blues (5-1, 1-0 NWC) eclipsed the 100-point mark on the fourth time on the season in a matchup of two of the top three scoring teams in NCAA Division III basketball. Whitman was led by a 19-point effort by Michael Gutierrez. Five other players scored in double figures including Bryce Mulder (18 pts.), Joey Hewitt (11 pts.), Andrew Vickers (11 pts.), Kanoa Johnson (11 pts.) and Jase Harrison (10 pts.).
The Boxers (3-3, 0-1 NWC) fall to the .500 mark and were held under 100 points for the first time on the season. Despite not reaching the century mark, Pacific managed to have four players in double figures including a pair of 11-point efforts from
Terrence Gilder and
Gage Shelmidine. They were joined in double figures by 10 points each from
Brevin Brown and
Davis Holly.

Andy Isokpehi knocked down a 3-pointer to cut the early Blues' lead to five, 19-14, with 13:39 left in the opening half. Then, the Blues came back with a 17-3 run to push the lead to double digits for the remainder of the contest.
The Blues shot 57.1% (44-for-77) including 13 3-pointers in the win; plus they outscored the Boxers' 36-17 in points off turnovers in the win.
Next, Pacific will travel to Spokane to face a Whitworth squad that is coming off an 86-69 win over Friday night against Willamette. The Pirates are currently ranked No. 14 in the last D3hoops.com poll.
