Three-straight first period pins sparked the Pacific University wrestling team to a 39-18 win over host Warner Pacific on Saturday.
 
Trailing 12-6 in the dual meet, the Boxers rattled off six-straight wins including three-straight first period pins for the win.
 
Pacific started the comeback with a fall by Mike Day, who also had a first period pin with his victory at the 2:30 mark at the 149 lbs. Next, the Boxers got an 8-3 win from Anthony Kraan at 157 lbs. to set the stage for the three-straight, first period pins to lift the Boxers to the victory.

Kaleb Winebarger (pictured) got things started with a fall at 1:01 at 165 lbs., followed by Iokepa Aken with a pin at 2:36 for a victory at 174 lbs. and Patrick Penick was victorious with a fall at the 1:13 mark at 184 lbs. The final victory on the day for Pacific came when Ian Morford returned to the mat with a win by forfeit at 197 lbs.

Later in the day, the Boxers dropped a 39-12 decision to Umpqua Community College.

The dual saw Winebarger post a 16-1 technical fall victory at 165 pounds and Iokepa Aken get a 16-8 major decision victory at 174 pounds to spark the Boxers. The third win on the day for Pacific came as Ian Morford edged Brayden Schultz, 4-1 at 197 lbs.
