The Pacific University men's and women's track and field teams competed in the Rich Allen Classic meet Saturday at George Fox. The Boxers had an excellent meet, with several PRs, eight individual champions, and 28 top-three finishes. Notably, the Boxers swept the top three spots in the women's 1500m with
Stephenie Spencer (4:57.58),
Serena Wallace (5:00.96) and
Hannah Berdahl (5:05.40).
Â
Individual champions on the women's team were
Alexa Smith in the 400m with a PR (1:01.22),
Stephenie Spencer in the 1500m (4:57.58),
Jenna Hoiland in triple jump (11.56m),
Karen Du in discus with a PR (41.90m), and

Â
"It is great to see so many of our athletes PR at this point in the season," Head Coach
Matt Lydum said. "There has been consistency across the board, and we're in a great spot with competition and training."
Â
The Boxers have had a strong start to the season. They've consistently secured top-three finishes in multiple events each meet, several PRs have been set each week, and a majority of the athletes have had consistent performances. Multiple Pacific athletes have cracked into the top 25 on the NCAA outdoor performance lists, with
Jenna Hoiland currently leading in triple jump and
Josh Huffman currently leading in discus. It is extremely early in the outdoor season, so the NCAA lists will continue to change as more athletes compete, but it is a great sign of future success for the Boxers.
Â
They will continue their season at the Willamette Invite next Saturday.
