Newberg, La Grande, and Portland, Ore. - The Pacific Track team was represented at three separate meets this past weekend, with both days once again seeing many Top Ten marks achieved. On Saturday, all field events, 60m, and 60m hurdle races were contested at the George Fox Tennis Center, while one student raced the 5000m at the Eastern Oregon Fieldhouse. On Sunday, the Boxers went up to the Chiles Center in Portland to race the 300m, 600m, 800m, and mile races.
Top Performers
On Saturday, the field event athletes at George Fox started the day well with seven finals appearances. Freshman Shaeli Sikes took 3rd in the women's weight throw with a mark of 13.39m, while sophomore Noah Tyrin took 5th in the men's shot put with a mark of 13.45m. Freshman Cadence Schedlbauer took 4th in the women's pole vault with a mark of 3.20m. Sophomore Mikell Adler made the finals for the men's 60m hurdles and came away with a first place finish. At Eastern Oregon, grad student Ria Gill ran a hard fought 5000m race. Being the only athlete running for the majority of the race, Gill came away with an impressive finishing time of 18:29.18, the second fastest all time in Pacific history.
On Sunday, senior Kamron Shields started the day with the 300m, winning the event and breaking the school record in a time of 36.31. Junior Jordan Lucero took 5th in the women's 800m in a time of 2:40.50 and landed on the Top Ten list, while freshman Ali Heinly took 4th in the women's mile in a time of 5:22.07. This puts her fourth all time in the event.

Up Next
The Boxers will once again be headed up to The Podium in Spokane to compete. In addition to the typical event line up, this meet includes an opportunity for our multi-event athletes to take part in the indoor heptathlon and indoor pentathlon, a rare opportunity for Pacific athletes. The meet takes place February 13-14.
