SPOKANE, Wash.– The Pacific Track and Field team had another record-breaking weekend at the Whitworth Indoor Invite. Friday and Saturday the Boxers competed yet again at the Podium where there were 27 All-Time Top 10 records broken and 5 new school records.
Top Performers
The first of many school records was broken by sophomore Dani Hammond on Friday in the Women's Indoor Pentathlon where Hammond shattered the school record by scoring 2705 points and placing 4th overall.
Later during the competition on Friday Morgan Boddy, Megan Feitz, Lauren Ortega, and Ali Heinly broke the school record in the Women's Distance Medley Relay. Their time of 12:49.62 not only broke the previous record but also placed them 2nd overall.
Kicking off the competition on Saturday senior Ally Hammond ran two personal records in the Women's 60m Hurdles and the Women's 200m. Hammond ran a time of 24.55 which allowed her to break her own school record and place 5th overall in the Women's 200m. Hammond also ran a time of 8.47 in the Women's 60m Hurdles placing her 1st overall. Not only did Hammond's time break her existing school record but it also places her #7 all time in Division III history.
The final school record of the weekend spread across the two days of competition by Senior Kamron Shields in the Men's Indoor Heptathlon. Shields set the school record by scoring a total 4128 points across seven events. Shields obtained four new personal records in the Shot Put, Pole Vault, High Jump and the 1000m which placed him 5th in overall along with setting the school record.
There were a total of 27 new All-Time Top 10 performances for the team including freshman Shaeli Sikes in the Women's Shot Put where she threw a personal record of 12.17m making her #2 All-time. Senior Courtney Tiernan is now #3 All-Time in the Women's Indoor Pentathlon with a combined 2447 points. Senior Kamron Shields also became #3 All-Time in the Men's 1000m with a time of 3:06.34.
Head coach Ryan Huntersimms said "We had a special couple days at The Podium. The love and care our athletes have for one another is what drives this program. The energy, the excitement, the way we compete for each other is special. We are spoiled as coaches to lead this group."

Next weekend the Boxers will be headed to Newberg, Ore. to compete at the George Fox Indoor #2 meet on Saturday, February 21st. They will compete in all field events, the 60m dash, and the 60m hurdles.
