The Pacific University men's and women's track and field teams hosted the Pacific Luau Invitational this Saturday. This was the Boxers last home meet as well as Senior Day Recognition for Pacific Track and Field seniors

The Boxers finished up their at-home competition with 21 top-three finishes, nine of which were individual wins. Several athletes had lifetime-bests, including
Emily Sproul in women's javelin, who threw 43.84m on her first attempt for the win. Other notable performances included lifetime PR's from
Oliver Joss in the men's 800m (1:59.29),
Morgan Henry in the women's 1500m (5:13.56), and
Kristi Echiverri, also in the women's 1500m (5:22.62).

On the track,
James Hoban and
Cole Strober went 1-2 in the men's 100m with times of 11.00 and 11.25, respectively. Hoban was also runner-up in the men's 200m in 22.35, and
Marissa Smith recorded a runner-up finish in the women's 200m (27.22). In the mid-distance and distance events,
Garrett Stewart won the men's 800m (1:58.29) and
Mason Hoskins took home third in the men's 5k with a huge lifetime PR (16:36.02).

Jenna Hoiland found success on the track and on the runway, placing second in the women's 100m hurdles with a PR (16.43) and winning both the long (5.25m) and triple jump (11.29), with a PR in the long jump.
Keegan Jones and
Namaka Park cleaned up the men's triple jump with a 1-2 sweep, with Jones jumping 13.10m and Park jumping 12.72m.

In the throws,
Josh Huffman continued his stellar senior season with two victories in the men's discus (46.68m) and men's shot put (14.78m). DuVall trailed closely behind him in discus to take second (45.56m), and later went on to place third in the men's hammer (47.63m).
Jason Draper won the men's hammer with a season PR of 51.39m.
Karen Du was runner up in the women's discus (39.34m) and third place in women's shot put (12.01m). In the women's javelin,
Brooke France finished behind her teammate Sproul for a runner-up finish (38.83m)

 "This was a really great final home meet, especially for our seniors," Head Coach
Matt Lydum said. "They've all put so much into this program throughout their careers. It's good to see them perform so well one last time on their home track."

The Pacific Boxers will continue their season at the Lewis & Clark Invite next Saturday before the Northwest Conference Championship meet April 26-27.
