The Pacific men and women's track and field teams finished competition in the Northwest Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships today. The men secured a third place finish with 90 points. The women finished fourth with 122 points, the highest women's finish in school history. The Boxers secured 16 places on the podium during the weekend, with seven individual NWC event champions.
The women were led on day two of the championship starting with
Emily Sproul's runner up finish in the javelin with a PR of 44.60m. The PR's kept coming after that;
Megan Eberhardt was runner up in the 400m with a PR of 58.58, and
Alexa Smith was seventh in the 400m in 1:00.97.
Marissa Smith finished eighth to pick up a point in the 200m dash with 26.78.
Audrey Lincoln finished fifth in the 400m hurldes with a PR of1:07.59, and
Kristin Pilgrim was fourth in the 800m with a PR of 2:23.46, and
Hannah Berdahl was seventh in the 1500m with a PR of 4:54.73. In the women's 5k, the Boxers took second, fourth and sixth with
Serena Wallace (18:11.27),
Stephenie Spencer (18:36.13) and
Kara Putman (18:54.60 - PR).
Brooke France was fourth in javelin (41.30)Â and was fifth in the discus (39.36m).
Jenna Hoiland won the triple jump in 11.73m and was fourth in 100m hurdles in 15.75. The women's 4x100m team claimed fourth place in 50.24, and the 4x400m team of
Alexa Smith,
Audrey Lincoln,
Marissa Smith and
Megan Eberhardt made the podium with their third place finish in a time of 4:01.99.
On the men's team,
James Hoban started off the track events of day two by winning the 100m in a PR of 10.69, the current 17th fastest mark on the NCAA DIII leader board.
Cole Strober came in fourth in 11.01, a PR for him in the 100m. Hoban then took second in the 200m with 21.75, and Strober was right behind him in third with 21.89.
Garrett Stewart ran his way to sixth place in the 800m with a time of 1:59.94.
Nick Slenning picked up another point in the 5k (15:58.37), finishing eighth.
Josh Huffman and
Jacob DuVall went 1-2 in the discus, throwing 44.36m and 43.62m, respectively.
Jason Draper was runner-up in the hammer throw, throwing 50.72m.
Kristian Bumanlag picked up points in the javelin with his fifth place finish and PR of 52.01m, andÂ
Namaka Park also helped the team with points from his sixth place finish in the triple jump and mark of 12.82m. The men's 4x100m team took sixth place with a time of 43.89. The men's 4x400m relay was exciting - for the Boxers, every point mattered.

James Hoban battled it out to finish in second place with a time of 3:25.99, securing a 3rd place team finish with 90 points, just one point ahead of Willamette University at 89 points.Â
"The Boxers came into the NWC Championships ready to compete," said head coach
Matt Lydum. "The energy the team had was amazing. Every person fought for each point scored. They all came together this weekend and had the greatest meet of their season."Â
For most of the Boxers, the NWC Championships marks the end of their season. A handful of athletes will continue on in the coming weeks as they work towards national qualifying marks.Â
