The Pacific men's tennis team landed three players –
Reyn Miyagawa,
Sean Murphy and
Rayden Murata – in the third round of the 2019 ITA West Regional Championships. All three won both of their matches on Saturday in straight-set fashion.
Miyagawa, who is the No. 5 seed; Murphy, who is the No. 11 seed and Murata, who is the No. 13 seed are all back in action on Sunday at 8 a.m.
In the consolation draw of the singles, sophomore
Koby Murata is still alive after an 8-5 win over Bear Lee of Whitman. His run in the main draw ended with a 6-0, 6-2 loss to Aaron Yuan of Whitman.
Miyagawa and teammate Joey are still alive in the main draw of the doubles. They posted back-to-back 8-2 wins over Rojas/Fuentes of Linfield and Hayes/Peev of Lewis & Clark. They will face at 4 p.m. on Sunday the team of Mueller-Immergluck/Chikkalingaiah of Whitman in the quarterfinals. In the consolation draw of the doubles, the Murata brothers will face the Bethards brothers from Whitworth at 5:15 p.m.
