WARRENTON, Ore., - The Pacific University golf team produced a sixth place finish this weekend at the George Fox Invite at Astoria Country Club. The Boxers were able to put together the first sub-300 round since 2009 when they fired a 299 in round one on Saturday.
 
Pacific was led by Matthew Zaback (Junior/Corvallis, OR) who fired a 73 in round one and a 75 in round two for a two-day total of 148. Mason Rodewald (Freshman/ Portland, OR) had a career best of 70 in round one and followed it up with a 79 in round two earning him a tie for 17^th place. Tyler Bryant (Freshman/ Olympia, WA) finished in a tie for 22^nd after shooting a 74 in round one and a 76 in round two. Nathan Johnson (Freshman/ Montesano, WA) saw a three stroke improvement on day two shooting 79 with a birdie on the finishing hole. Kaleb Makimoto (Junior/ Wailuku, HI) finished in 41^st for the two-day event.

Pacific will next play Oct. 9^th and 10^th in the NWC Fall Classic which will be a home event for the Boxers at Quail Valley in Banks, OR.
