Boxer Tennis Wraps Up Season As Runner-Up At NWC Championships

The Pacific University men's tennis team concluded the season on Sunday with a runner-up finish in the NWC Championship Match. The match was one for the ages with George Fox coming out on top 5-4.
 
In doubles play, George Fox was able to claim 2 of the 3 points. The #2 doubles team of Reyn Miyagawa and Rayden Murata were able to claim the 8-1 victory. The point left the Boxers in a good position to take the momentum headed into singles play.
 
Sean Murphy and Reyn Miyagawa got the Boxers off to a hot start winning both their matches 6-2, 6-2. George Fox tied up the match after a hard fought match at #1 singles from Quentin Gonzalez. Rayden Murata was able to put the Boxers back on top in the #4 singles spot with a 6-2, 6-3 win. Joey Hu fell in a tight match at #5 singles that included a tie breaker going to George Fox in set one of the match. Joey Balleweg fell in a match at #6 singles 3-6, 6-2, 6-1.
 
Pacific finishes the season 13-3 along with their highest regional ranking in program history.
