Pacific Honors Seven Boxers on Senior Night

FOREST GROVE, Ore. – Pacific Volleyball hosted Senior Night inside the Stoller Center, honoring Kimberlie Nordahl, Charlotte Powell, Shaianne Cambra, Olivia Pratt, Jaiden Martin, Karina Umaliand Kyla Sandoval in their final game wearing the Red and Black. 
 
Whitworth took the 3-1 victory on Saturday, night rallying to win three straight sets after dropping the opener. 
 
Mara Murphy made history in the match by setting the program record for the most kills in a single-season, finishing the year with 369 to her name. Jill Peacock previously held the record with her 359 kills in 2007.
 
Top Performers 
 
  • Mara Murphy led the Boxers with 14 kills on the night.
  • Olivia Pratt enjoyed a solid performance in her final game for Pacific.
  • Charlotte Powell capped off her career with six kills and just one error, hitting .263 on the night.
 
How It Happened

Pacific got the perfect start to the season finale by stringing together a 7-0 run, highlighted by two kills from Pratt, to take a commanding lead in the first set. Whitman threatened with a five-point rally near the end of the frame, but the Boxers held on for the 25-21 win.
 
The match took a turn in the second set when the Blues erased an 8-1 deficit with a 14-3 run to thrust themselves out in front. Whitman did not look back and cruised to the 25-19 victory, evening the match at a set apiece.
 
The Boxers jumped out to another early lead in the third set but Whitman answered yet again, putting together an 11-2 scoring streak to gain the advantage. The visitors eventually took the lead in the match by taking the set 25-20.
 
Whitman dominated from start-to-finish in the fourth and final set. The Blues walked away with the 25-14 set victory to win the match.
 
What It Means
 
Pacific concludes the 2022 season with an overall record of 13-10 (8-8 NWC) to finish in a tie for sixth place in the conference standings.
