McMINNVILLE, Ore.- The Pacific University women's lacrosse team surrendered 13 first-half goals and were unable to recover, allowing Linfield to come away with the 17-4 victory.
Pacific falls to 0-3 in Northwest Conference play after struggling on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats enjoyed the advantage in nearly every statistical category as they were on the front foot for majority of the match.
Linfield fired a total of 42 shots with 31 on target while Pacific mustered just eight total attempts.
Hyland Cullen-Musengo (Sophomore/Portland, OR) recorded her third multi-goal game of the season with a pair of first-half goals.
How It Happened
The hosts scored four unanswered goals to open the contest before Cullen-Musengo ended the streak by netting her first goal of the day. Linfield added four more before Cullen-Musengo found her second goal.
The Wildcats continued their offensive dominance by sneaking in five more goals before the end of the half, taking a 13-2 lead into the break.
Pacific was shutout in the third period but
Katrina Boyd (Senior/San Jose, CA) ended the scoring drought with a goal in the early minutes of the fourth.
The Boxers would out-score their opponents 2-1 in the final quarter when
Vivian Mai (Senior/Portland, OR) found the back of the net for the ninth time this year.
