PORTLAND, Ore.- Pacific men's tennis swept Lewis & Clark 9-0 on Sunday afternoon to get back to their winning ways.
"This was a good bounce back for us today," said Head Coach
Brian Jackson. "Mixing the doubles up created the energy we needed to start strong, and we carried that momentum throughout the match.
The Boxers won all of their singles matches in straight sets in what proved to be a dominant performance.
Mason Tran (Freshman/Irvine, CA) continued his great season with a 6-2, 6-0 in the number-one spot while
Reyn Miyagawa (Junior/Kaneohe, HI) recorded the double bagel at number-two.
At number three,
Quentin Gonzalez (Junior/Orange, CA) cruised to victory while
Koby Murata (Junior/Kaimuki, HI) and
Garret Katayama (Senior/Boise, ID) made quick work of their opponents at number four and five.
Osman Chan made the most of his appearance with the 6-2, 6-2 victory.
Aidan Rooney (Freshman/Mililani, HI) and
Joey Hu (Junior/Aiea, HI) held down number-three doubles with an 8-3 win.
Pacific lined up a bit different in the other two doubles matches, but it was extremely effective as the duo of Gonzalez and Tran picked up the 8-1 win and Miyagawa and Tran teamed up to shutout their opponent 8-0.
