Match Recap: Men's Tennis |

Boxers Grab Second Straight Victory

FOREST GROVE, Ore.- Pacific men's tennis picked up their second straight win with a convincing 8-1 victory over Concordia-Texas.

"It was a strong performance from our guys today to cap off a long weekend," said Head Coach Brian Jackson. "We really appreciate Concordia-Texas coming to play. They're a solid team that was a little beat up from their weekend of matches. I was really happy with our depth today, as we had a few guys out as well. Now we are looking to get healthy this week before heading to California for a very tough week of matches."

Mason Tran (Freshman/Irvine, CA) and Nicholas Koulisis (Freshman/Boca Raton, FL) won their matches in straight sets. Reyn Miyagawa (Junior/Kaneohe, HI) followed by putting up a double bagel for the second straight day.

Joshua Matabuena (Freshman/Oakley, CA) made his season debut and impressed with his 6-1, 6-2 victory in number six singles. Koby Murata (Junior/Kaimuki, HI) dominated in the number-four spot.

Quentin Gonzalez (Junior/Orange, CA) and Tran paired up in number-one doubles and came away with the win while Joey Hu (Junior/Aiea, H) and Murata won 8-3 at number-two.
