THOUSAND OAKS, Cali. – The Pacific University lacrosse team opened up their Southern California trip with an 18-2 loss to Southwestern University.
Southwestern came out in the game firing on all cylinders on the offensive end scoring 23 seconds into the game. The Pirates from there would score 10 more goals in the half all unanswered to take a 11-0 lead into the locker room at half.
The Pirates after the break added three more goals before
Hyland Cullen-Musengo (Sophomore/Portland, OR) found the back of the net for her 16
th goal of the season.
Southwestern would stretch the lead to 18-1 before
Alex Avila-Griffin (Sophomore/Aliso Viejo, CA) would score with 2:22 remaining in the game. It was the first goal of Avila-Griffin's collegiate career.
