WALLA WALLA, Wash.- Pacific men's tennis clinched a spot in the Northwest Conference Tournament for the seventh straight season with their 7-2 victory over Whitman on Sunday afternoon.
The Boxers claim the second seed in the tournament after finishing the season with a record of 6-1. Pacific will face No. 3 Whitman in the first round next weekend.
"It was a really tough battle with the Blues today," said Head Coach
Brian Jackson. "We didn't have our best stuff coming out of the gate, and we were without our co-captain, but I was really impressed with the comeback from Joey (Hu) and Nicholas (Koulisis) at number-three doubles, which gave us the boost we needed going into singles. Strong performances at the top of that lineup secured the win."
The was the first time Jackson has defeated Whitman as a head coach. Pacific suffered just four losses against Division III opponents in its 2022 campaign, winning four straight matches and six of its last seven to close the season.
