NEWBERG, Ore.- Dominic Funk (Junior/Forest Grove, OR) found success Friday at the George Fox Final Qualifier winning the javelin while also qualifying for the 2022 NCAA Division III National Championship.

Funk's first throw of the event landed at a mark of 57.51 meters which was short of the qualifying distance. His second throw achieved a mark of 64.56 meters bringing the desired result. The throw moves him into sixth in the nation and sends him to his second straight NCAA DIII National Championship in the javelin.

The qualifying throw also broke Funk's school record by over five meters that he set in the 2021 school year.

The NCAA Division III National Championship will be conducted May 26
th-28
th at the Spire Institute in Geneve, Ohio. Funk will look to perform well at the championship meet where he earned All-American honors with an eighth-place finish in 2021.
