McMinnville, Ore. – Pacific Track and Field opened its 2026 outdoor season at the Erik Anderson Icebreaker at Linfield University. The Boxers had two days of competition. First on Friday in the 10K, with the rest of the competition held on Saturday. Over the two days of competition, there were 19 athletes who qualified for the Northwest Conference Championships and six new All-Time Top Ten performances.
Top Performers
Leading off on Friday night in the Women's 10k, graduate student Ria Gill qualified for the NWC Championships with a time of 38:24.20. Gill's time also made her #7 on the All-Time Top Ten list.
Next in the Women's Pole Vault, freshman Cadence Schedlbauer jumped 3.43m. Schedlbauer's jump qualified her for the NWC Championships and placed her #2 on the All-Time Top Ten list in the Women's Pole Vault.
Over in the Throws, there were two All-Time Top Ten performances. Starting in the Men's Discus Throw, freshman Noel Gutierrez became #5 on the All-Time Top Ten list with a throw of 45.60m, which qualified him for the NWC Championships in the Men's Discus. Following Gutierrez, freshman Shaeli Sikes competed in the Women's Hammer Throw. Sikes' throw of 40.58m placed her #9 All-Time Top Ten list and also qualified for the NWC Championships for Women's Hammer Throw.
In the Women's 100m, graduate student Josie Lavato ran a 12.98, not only qualifying her for the NWC Championships but also placing her #7 on the All-Time Top Ten List. Lavato also ran alongside Maya Kaneshiro, Kimberly-Ann Vidinha, and Nora Chennault in the Women's 4x100m, the group's time of 50.93 puts them #10 on the All-Time Top Ten list for the 4x100m relay.
"It was a beautiful day to open the outdoor season. We had solid weather and multiple conference qualifiers. I am happy with the way this team competed and have set the tone for the season early." Said Head Coach Ryan Huntersimms. "I am also excited for the NCAA Indoor Championships next weekend as Ally goes after a national title, while the rest of the team keeps pushing for more conference qualifiers and Top Ten marks."

Up Next
Next up the Boxers Track and Field team will head to Newberg Ore. to compete at the Rich Allen Classic at George Fox University. The competition will be held on Saturday March 14th and will have a full schedule of track and field events. Senior Ally Hammond will also compete at the NCAA DIII Indoor Nationals at the Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham Ala. on March 13th and 14th.
