WALLA WALLA, Wash.- Cassidy Binder took home the championship in the singles competition at the ITA Northwest Regional hosted by Whitman College. The sophomore won five straight matches before prevailing in the final to earn the trophy.


 
She would team up with her sister Sydnie Binder to reach the doubles final, but fell in the final to No. 2 Seed Angel Le and Arianna Castellanos of Whitman.

How It Happened
 
Cassidy Binder cruised through her first two matches, grabbing 6-1, 6-1 and 6-2, 6-0 victories to reach the quarterfinal.  She faced a tough opponent, Whitman's Ilina Jha, in the next round and grinded out a three-set win (6-1, 3-6, 6-2) to propel herself to the semifinal round. With a 6-1, 6-3 win in the semifinal, Binder went on to the final where she earned a 6-1, 6-0 win to earn the singles title.
 
In doubles play, the Binder sisters lost just eight games on their way to the doubles final. The last match went down to the wire but Le and Castellanos snatched the victory on their home court, 6-4, 6-3.
