TACOMA, Wash. – Pacific women's basketball ended their three-game losing streak on Saturday with a 47-37 win over Pacific Lutheran.
The Boxers were able to come out on top by forcing an impressive 25 turnovers on the defensive end which led to 24 points off of turnovers.

How It Happened
It was a fast start for the Boxers who tallied 8 quick points following two threes and a layup in the first four minutes of the game. Pacific was able to extend their lead to five with 3:35 remaining before both teams would go cold into the end of the quarter. Pacific held a 10-7 lead at the end of the first quarter.
It was the Boxers defense that stood out in the start of the second quarter as they held the hosts scoreless for the first four minutes. With the Boxers leading 15-11 with 4:51 remaining, neither team would score until the 1:27 mark when PLU converted a layup on the offensive end. The Boxers responded scoring on their last three possessions of the first half to take a 21-15 lead to the halftime break.
The defense was again prevalent for the Boxers to open the third quarter by going on 9-0 run in the first three minutes of the quarter. Following a converted layup as well as the ensuing free throw from
Sydney Gray, the Boxers opened up a 15-point lead with 6:28 remaining. The two teams played fairly even from there with the Red and Black holding a 38-25 lead at the end of the quarter.
Pacific maintained control the majority of the final quarter and was able to fend off multiple scoring runs by the host Lutes. The Lutes shrunk their deficit to single digits with 5:15 remaining but were never able to get it inside a three-possession game. The Boxers closed out the 47-37 win to end their three game NWC skid.
