FOREST GROVE, Ore.- The Pacific University lacrosse team earned a win on Wednesday night with an 8-6 win over Cornell College.

The Boxers were able to establish offensive control by controlling two-thirds of the draws in the contest.

- Amelia Haindl was able to record eight saves in the goal on the way to her second win of the season between the posts.
- Hyland Cullen-Musengo lead the offensive charge for the Boxers scoring four goals and registering one assist.
- Devyn Davis lent a helping hand offensive recording two goals of her own.

How It Happened

The Boxers able to open the scoresheet just over five minutes into the contest when
Diane Crets found the back of the net on a free position shot. The goal scoring opportunity started with a successful clear following a turnover from the Rams. Pacific was able to double their lead five minutes later with another successful free position shot from Cullen-Musengo. Cornell would score back-to-back goals before
Devyn Davis pushed the Boxers back up one with 44 seconds remaining in the opening quarter. Pacific held a 3-2 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The two offensives had a slow start to the second quarter before Cullen-Musengo and
Taylor Alcaire scored back-to-back goals to give the host a 5-2 lead. Cornell would score two more goals over the final three minutes and change but Cullen-Musengo would also score her third goal of the game to give the Boxers a 6-4 lead at the break.

With 5:42 remaining in the third quarter the visitors would register a goal to pull within one of the Boxers lead. Cullen-Musengo again would find open space and register her fourth goal of the contest. Cornell would find the back of the net one final time in the third and trail the Boxers 7-6 heading into the final quarter.

Davis would register the lone goal in the final quarter as Pacific earned the 8-6 win over the vistors from Iowa.

The Boxers head to Portland on Sunday, March 19
th for a rematch against Multnomah. The Boxers were able to earn the win by a score of 16-4 in their first matchup in the season.
