FOREST GROVE, Ore.- The Pacific University lacrosse team split the weekend, earning their first win in conference play on Saturday with a 10-9 victory over Whitworth University.

Game 1
The visiting Pirates opened up the scoring a minute into the match. They would find the back of the net two more times before Mia White would get the Boxers on the board. Devyn Davis would cut the deficit to one a minute later but the visitors would find one more goal to take the 4-2 lead into the second quarter.
Davis would reopen the scoring in quarter two off a free-position shot two minutes in. Both teams would go scoreless for the next eight minutes until a pass from Hyland Cullen-Musengo would find White in perfect scoring position who fired a shot into the back of the net.
The third-quarter scoring started quickly, when the Pirates regained their lead, 5-4. White would earn a free position shot in the seventh minute to tie up the game before the visitors would extend their lead to two in the quarter's final seconds, 7-5.
The final quarter scoring began early in the opening minute by Whitworth before back-to-back goals by Sarah Pokorny and White cut the deficit to one. The Pirates would add one more to the scoreboard before the Boxers would find three goals from Billie Merriam and White in the final two minutes of the quarter to take their first lead of the game and earn the 10-9 victory.
Game 2
The visiting Blues quickly dominated the opening half scoring five unanswered goals in the first quarter and seven in the second. Hyland Cullen-Musengo would find the Boxer's second goal of the match off the draw control. Followed by a goal from Sarah Pokorny to close out the quarter, 15-3.
Cullen-Musengo would tally one more goal in the final quarter but the Blues would earn the victory, 19-4.
