Box Score 4 FOREST GROVE, Ore. – The Pacific University dropped their final four game series against top seeded Linfield University, playing two of their four game series at home for Senior Day.
Top Performers
- Sydney Rusin went three for our in game two, a new season high.
- Carli Zanassi hit her first homerun of the season in game three plating two runs.
Game 1
The first two innings were scoreless for both teams before the visiting Wildcats scored all four of their runs in the third on three singles and an RBI double.
It was hitless for the next two innings before Patton hit a single in the bottom of the sixth to end the drought. The Wildcats went three up, three down before shutting down the Boxers in their final at bat.
Game 2
The Boxers got things started early in game two, three consecutive hits from Patton, Zanassi and Rusin plated the first two runs of the game.
The Wildcats put up two runs of their own in the top half of the third to tie up the game, 2-2. They scored one more run in the top of the fifth before the Boxers evened the score at three when Gamble traded a groundout for a run.
In the top of the seventh the visiting team scored the final two runs of the game and the Boxers weren't able to respond.
Game 3
Linfield scored all three of their hits in the bottom of the first to get game three started and plated two more in the following two innings, 5-0.
In the top of the fourth, Zanassi found the second hit of the day for the Boxers with a two run homer to left field but that wasn't enough to keep the rally going.
Game 4
The Wildcats scored early in the second inning on a homerun, double and single. They added one more to the scoreboard in the third and held the Boxers to just two hits before Ishikawa scored on a wild pitch but that wasn't enough to keep things going for the Boxers.
