WALLA WALLA, Wash. -- Five Pacific men's tennis players advanced to the final day of the ITA Fall Northwest Regional Championships.
After losing his fist match Friday at Whitman College, Pacific freshman
Alexander Kinoshita regrouped to win the A draw first round consolation bracket.
Kinoshita defeated Whitworth sophomore Payton Romey 6-4, 6-2 in the consolation finals.
Pacific junior
Joshua Matabuena and freshman
Dawson Hose won the doubles consolation bracket, defeating Puget Sound's Trent Beckman and Noah Henderson 8-7 (3) in the finals.
Matabuena and Hose topped Puget Sound's Carson Ward and Will Church 8-4 in the consolation quarterfinals and Lewis & Clark's Matt Chio and Miles Stone 8-6 in the semifinals.
Next, Pacific hosts the University of California, Santa Cruz on Saturday, Oct. 7 at the Holce Tennis Courts.
