TACOMA, Wash. -- Pacific could not get out of its offensive funk Saturday at Puget Sound.
Playing without starting guard
Emily Holsan for the second straight night, the Boxers shot just 25.4 percent (16-for-63) from the field, including 10 percent (3-for-30) from behind the 3-point arc in a 54-45 Northwest Conference loss.
Alexis Intong posted a double-double of 11 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Boxers.
Brilie Kovaloff had 10 points, four rebounds and two steals.
Taya McCallum added eight points and six rebounds off the bench.
Pacific opened the second half on a 5-0 run to tie the game at 23-23 with 8:42 remaining in the third quarter. But the Boxers could never take the lead in the second half. Puget Sound extended its lead to 39-29 entering the fourth period.
Pacific didn't score its first points of the final quarter until the 4:46 mark.
The 45 points were a season low for the Boxers in conference play.
Next, Pacific (13-7, 9-3) plays at Willamette (13-8, 10-2) on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
