PORTLAND, Ore. -- After scoring 11 goals in the first half, Pacific's offense went cold for much of the second half.
But the Boxers scored just in time as a goal by
Cameron Cabuco with 2:30 remaining sent Pacific past Lewis & Clark 12-11 Sunday afternoon.
Tied 4-4 after the first period, Pacific's offense exploded for seven goals in the second quarter to take a 11-7 lead into halftime.
However, the Pioneers answered with three goals in the third period and then tied the match at 11-11 with 10:06 remaining in the game.
Playing in her first match of the season, senior
Hyland Cullen-Musengo had an assist on the game-winning goal and scored three goals herself in the victory.
Zannah Suehiro,
Diane Crets,
Jasmyn Zimmerman and
Devyn Davis each scored two goals for the Boxers.
Swegle Sage had six goals for Lewis & Clark.
At goalkeeper, Pacific freshman
Sophie Sheppard recorded nine saves.
Next, the Boxers play at George Fox on Friday and then host Linfield Saturday at 1 p.m.
