Pacific gave Puget Sound a scare, getting within two goals with 3:34 remaining in the game. But the Boxers couldn't get any closer, falling 10-8 Sunday at Hanson Stadium in Forest Grove.

Trailing 8-1, Pacific scored two goals in the final 2 minutes of the second quarter to get within 8-3 at halftime. Down 10-4 entering the fourth quarter, the Boxers outscored Puget Sound 4-0 in the final period to get within 10-8.

Senior Hyland Cullen-Musengo scored two goals. Cyan Fellows, Zannah Suehiro, Kellyn Claeys, Diane Crets, Sarah Quade and Devyn Davis also scored for Pacific in the loss. 

At goalkeeper, Pacific freshman Sophie Sheppard had eight saves in three quarters. 

The Boxers dropped to 2-9 overall and 0-7 in the Northwest Conference. 

Next, Pacific hosts Willamette (9-2, 6-1) Monday at 6 p.m.
