Pacific edged Whitworth 5-4 Friday afternoon to improve to 3-1 in the Northwest Conference.

Playing at the Holce Tennis Courts, the Boxers won two of three doubles matches. Alexander Kinoshita and Aidan Rooney defeated Ethan Warring and Matt Froslan 8-2 at No. 2 doubles. Joshua Matabuena and Ryley Chang topped Colby Cinqmars and Jess Weaver 8-3 at 3 doubles.

Pacific went 3-3 in singles action. Rooney swept Weaver 6-1, 6-3 at 4 singles. Kinoshita defeated Cinqmars 6-4, 6-2 at 5 singles. After dropping the first set 2-6, Lucas Fuhrmann came back to win the second and third sets 6-3 to edge Froslan at 6 singles.

Next, the Boxers are back in action at home Saturday morning against Linfield.
