ATLANTA – Playing in the TownePlace Suites Classic, the Pacific women's basketball team defeated Kalamazoo 67-58 on Wednesday at Oglethorpe University.

After falling to host Oglethorpe 60-49 on Monday, the Boxers got off to a fast start on Wednesday, racing out to an 8-0 lead against Kalamazoo.

Pacific stretched its lead to as many as 17 points in the second period. The Boxers led by 13 points, 46-33, midway through the third quarter, before the Hornets went on a 16-3 run to tie the game at 49-49 entering the fourth.

Kalamazoo made a 3-pointer to take its first lead with 9:32 remaining in the game. But Pacific responded with a 12-0 run to take the lead for good. The win snapped a three-game losing streak.Â

The Boxers closed out the TownePlace Suites Classic on Thursday with a 72-52 loss to No. 9 Hope.

Pacific never led in the game as the Flying Dutch built a 20-4 lead.Â

Brookelynn Burke knocked down a 3-pointer at the end of the first period, but the Boxers could not carry over the momentum into the second quarter as Hope continued to add to its lead.

Shaade Williams averaged 14.3 points and five rebounds in the three games.
Lindsay Barden recorded 10 points, 4.3 rebounds and two assists per game. Sophomore
Sydney Esperanza added 9.3 points and five rebounds.Â
